This site is dedicated to Toronto's  tiny, tortured, five-year old  Jeffrey Baldwin and all those concerned citizens who would dare to report their suspicions of child abuse  to so-called officials  without fear of reprisal, ie criminal charges.

The person who started this site, Linda Pitney, has personally experienced the mere lip service paid by Canadian officials  to:

1.     the protection of children from the vile offence of child abuse.  We can better protect our children through stringent laws and the education of teachers, principals, school trustees, school boards,  police and the public.   Today they seem unaware that child abuse is a criminal offence and that they have a duty under the Child and Family Services Act to report and address their suspicions.

2.    the protection afforded the reporter of suspected child abuse.    Their protection and empowerment also can be addressed by changing the laws so that a concerned citizen can turn to various institutions (Board of Education, police departments, children’s aid societies)  or officials (teachers, principals, school trustees, police on the beat)  to report suspected child abuse .    At present, the Child and Family Services Act (CFSA) gives the reporter immunity from any form of reprisal only if they report directly to the Children’s Aid Society (CAS)!

By intimidating or criminalizing the reporter, every Ontario child is put at risk and left in a very vulnerable position.  It is highly probable that the abusers will know of these weaknesses in the system and take advantage of them.  How many good Samaritans have landed before the courts on frivolous, vexatious charges of harassment when instead they should be praised for their immediate action in  attempting  to save a possibly abused child.

3.    the prosecution of child abusers.  Our indifferent justice system consistently doles out weak, toothless sentences for these horrendous  life-altering crimes.  The Ontario justice system must begin to respect our children and stop humiliating the Province of Ontario!

My site strives to increase the awareness of Ontarians regarding the vulnerability of their children, the reporters of child abuse and the flagrant hypocrisy, indifference and incompetence of the “authorities” who will sadly determine the safety and protection of our children.
